Measu Bellay

My name is Measu Bellay and I am an Ethiopian photographer based in Maryland. I mainly work in Commercial and Editorial photography spaces. My background in Economics and social science research has given me unique perspective in this field, and informs my artistic and ethical practices in Photography. My mission in photography is to celebrate humanity, whether I am using images to zoom in on or reimagine my life experiences. I seek to bring my viewers into my world, allowing them to experience life through my eyes. I am greatly inspired by the dynamic storytelling of Ethiopian culture, and hope to use my artistic journey to uplift Black life and culture.
